Learn Trumpet or Cornet – From Beginner to Competent Player

Have you always wanted to learn the trumpet or cornet but never had the opportunity? Our adult lessons are designed to be practical, engaging and enjoyable, whether you are a complete beginner or returning to an instrument after many years. You will learn at your own pace, building confidence and ability through a combination of practical playing and music theory.

Over a structured programme, we aim to take a complete beginner towards becoming a confident and competent player within around two years, with regular practice and commitment. Lessons will cover breathing and breath control, embouchure, posture, tone production, scales, notes, rhythm, reading music, music theory, technique and eventually playing complete pieces of music. We will also work on developing your confidence, improving your listening skills and helping you understand why you are playing what you are playing, rather than simply learning notes.
